Previewing NeoCon 2017

In two weeks NeoCon will be in full swing at theMART in Chicago. Occurring June 12–14, the 49th edition of NeoCon will draw more than 50,000 design professionals to view new product introductions in nearly one million square feet of exhibition space and to attend nearly 100 accredited seminars, special programs, and keynotes presentations.

Contract’s Official Product Preview Guide (now available online, and hard copies will be at the show) details events, keynote speakers, and provides a listing of exhibitors. It also includes a Q&A with author and commentator Arianna Huffington, who will deliver a message on wellness in her NeoCon keynote, exhibitions in Chicago that will be of interest to designers, as well as previews of improvements that have been made at theMART: the new Chicago Riverwalk outside designed by Ross Barney Architects (Carol Ross Barney, FAIA, will speak on Tuesday the 13th at NeoCon) and Marshall’s Landing–designed by A+I and Valerio Dewalt Train Associates—which will provide upgraded options for eating, drinking, and relaxing at the top of the new bleacher-like stairs that debuted last year within the building.

And of course, the preview guide is packed with new products that will debut at NeoCon. The guide features seating, lighting, wall and floor finishes, desking, casegood systems, and textiles, organized by the floor on which they will be on view in theMART. One challenge that designers grapple with today is how to foster collaboration within the open office environment while also provided areas for focused work. Manufacturers are offering many new interior solutions and furniture collections that aim to foster both. Also see our June issue, which will be available at the show as well, for more NeoCon product preview coverage.

On Sunday before NeoCon the winners of the Inspirations Awards will be recognized at a reception in Tarkett’s showroom, and then early Monday morning the winners of the Best of NeoCon competition will be announced. Purchase tickets here.

See you in Chicago!
