On view at the newly opened Knupp Gallery in Los Angeles is an exhibition titled “Bohemiam Glass Show” featuring glass objects and light fixtures by Lasvit as well as glass sculptures by a range of artists. Lasvit is a Czech-based manufacturer of glass works that appear in many hotels and public spaces around the world.
Fixtures on view include a chandelier by Rene Roubicek titled “And Why Not!” Drawing from his lifetime of experimentation with glass in creating dynamic and abstract forms, Roubicek conceived the fixture as a “flash” with smoothly polished surfaces that reflect light.
Maxim Velcovsky was inspired by the transformation of water into ice when creating the Frozen collection of pendants for Lasvit, which is also on view.
The exhibition is open until February 28 at the new gallery, which is located just south of downtown Los Angeles.
