The New York Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA NY) hosted its 14th annual Color Invasion event on October 19. Benefitting IIDA NY’s student activities and Design Awards Programs, the Carnevale di Venezia–themed party reimagined the interiors Manhattan’s Waterfront Tunnel to create a unique rocambolesco experience, which attracted nearly 1,200 masked guests from the architecture and design community.

Capturing the spirit of the Carnevale and transporting guests to Venice, the playful ambience mixed interior décor—including a projected depiction of the Rialto Bridge and Gondola shaped tables—with entertainment such as a magic lantern theatre, a living Venetian statue on a pedestal, and harlequin stilt-walkers that traversed throughout the Tunnel.

Additionally, the IIDA NY collected donations of pajamas and books on behalf of the Pajama Program, an organization dedicated to delivering warm pajamas and books to children in need. A portion of the proceeds from the event were also donated to benefit the Pajama Program.
