I was so pleased to attend the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) 40th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday in Boston, as well as the ASID State of the Industry presentation as part of the organization’s Chapter Leadership Conference. More than 300 people attended the Saturday events.
A number of individuals were honored with awards at the 40th Anniversary Celebration, and you can read more about them here. Sonya Dufner, FASID, of Gensler New York received ASID’s highest individual award: Designer of Distinction. You can view the short video about Sonya that was shown at the Celebration here.

William Browning, Hon. AIA, received the Design for Humanity Award.
Wayne Ruga, FAIA, FIIDA, Hon. FASID, was the recipient of the Design Innovation Award.
Lisa Marie Tucker, Ph.D., ASID, was honored with the Nancy Vincent McClelland Merit Award.
Five ASID leaders were named Fellows of the organization: Edward Bottomley, ASID; Trudy Dujardin, ASID; Joan Kaufman, ASID; Jean Pinto, ASID; and Patrick Schmidt, ASID.
And ASID honored has chosen seven National Honors recipients for 2015 based on their outstanding service to ASID, its local chapters, and the community. Read more about those winners here.
