DesignHive Presents a New Approach to Commercial Office Interiors

Often, when a company seeks new commercial office space, it leases an empty floor of a building and then hires an architect or interior designer to envision a workspace that uniquely fits the company’s way of working and its brand. Commercial real estate company Brookfield Property Partners has conceived a new approach: It engaged six firms in Los Angeles to design six suites, approximately 3,500 to 4,000 square feet each, in two downtown high-rises: the Wells Fargo Center South Tower and The Gas Company Tower. The suites—designed by Gensler, Rottet Studio, IA – Interior Architects, SAA, Wolcott, and Unispace—that comprise DesignHive each offer a ready-to-lease work environment geared towards a specific industry: creative, tech, media, financial, legal, and professional services.

The DesignHive suites were created to serve as a catalyst and experiential idea generator for office tenants: “We challenged the architecture firms to create a forward thinking, unique workplace so that we can show how these great assets can offer an efficient, collaborative and innovative office space,” says John Barganski, Senior Vice President of Leasing, U.S. Office Division, Brookfield Property Partners.

“Downtown Los Angeles is Southern California’s next big tech and creative office space market. With the entire city at your fingertips, high rises in downtown offer a variety of appealing amenities such as its proximity to public transit, open floor plans, ground floor public spaces and spectacular views,” says Bert Dezzutti, Executive Vice President, Western Region, U.S. Office Division, Brookfield Property Partners.
