Steelcase Celebrates Jeannie Bochette

Last week, friends and colleagues gathered at Steelcase’s New York home at Columbus Circle to celebrate the retirement of Jeannie Bochette, who was marketing manager for Steelcase for many years. In the industry, and especially in New York, she was known as a connector, connecting professional interior designers and related professionals. Bill Bouchey, director of design at M. MOSER Associates, told me how Jeannie’s invitation to take part in a Steelcase design program in 1998 was instrumental in his career, and he was there to personally thank her. She also had a key role in beginning what became the IIDA Leaders Breakfast series, with the launch of a single event in New York in 1989. Bill Spink, president of IDLNY, was emcee of the party, and a number of tributes and a resolution from the New York State Senate were read.
