WAC Lighting is taking their "Responsible Lighting" corporate mantra to a new level. Company employees recently organized to raise $1,400 to promote awareness and support research for Parkinson's Disease.
Company president Shelley Wang shared in a statement, "Annie Harwani, our associate account executive, and several other employees, donated their time to give back to the community by participating in the Annual Parkinson’s Unity Walk." The walk was held April 24 in New York City. WAC Lighting has participated in this fundraising walk for the past four years.
I find this a great reflection of the company's commitment to social responsibility. It shows that their focus on responsible practices is more than just talk and raises awareness for a disease that affects over 500,000 people in America, with 50,000 new cases every year.
That's what I call illuminating.
