A Dose of Design Cardio

Runners Get your running shoes on, designers. The AIA, New York Chapter is hosting its fifth annual Fit City conference, which aims to promote physical activity through design, on May 18 at 8:30 a.m. The free event, produced in partnership with the New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, will bring design, architecture, and public health professionals together to discuss how proper building and policy can actually improve our health. The conference will focus on the NYC Active Design Guidelines (January 2010), a reference of strategies to create healthier buildings and urban spaces (which is fantastic for gym rats like me who can't seem to get enough heart-pumping activity!)
