The Guggenheim Museum's renowned NYC home by Frank Lloyd Wright turns 50 this year, so it's fitting that the celebration will be marked with a new exhibition of FLW's drawings along with new models, animations, and oral histories.
Frank Lloyd Wright: From Within Outward opens at the Guggenheim (1071 Fifth Avenue) on May 15 and will be running until late August. Presented on the spiral ramps, the exhibition will bring together 64 projects designed by FLW, from privately commissioned residences to civic and government buildings, religious spaces, and unrealized mega-structures.
The exhibition title comes from FLW's musing on the importance of interior space in shaping a structure's exterior. A note for visitors: It will be loosely organized chronologically and should be viewed from the rotunda floor upwards.
